How to Prevent the Appearance of Moulds in Inaccessible Places behind Kitchen Units?

Naturally, vapours produced during cooking increase the humidity of the room. This leads to ideal conditions for the appearance of moulds which, however, are very dangerous and may cause several health problems. Moulds release spores into the air and these can cause respiratory problems, skin diseases or allergic reactions. A favourite place of the moulds, where they can thrive undisturbed, is behind the kitchen units. These are usually fixed and cleaning these areas is problematic.Treat the walls as a preventive measure and eliminate the risk of the appearance of moulds in the very beginning. The solution is to apply the Nano Coat System building material.

Its exceptional qualities regulate the microclimate and the humidity in the room. The Nano Coat System has been developed with special technology based on nanostructures. This permeable material ensures the natural breathing of the walls and enables the passage of water vapour through the structure. At the same time, it prevents the condensation of water vapours on the surface of the walls, reducing the risk of the appearance of moulds. The system is suitable to all the rooms where food is present, since it complies with the EU requirements for the certification of food contact materials.

Which Places Should the Material be Applied to in the Kitchen?

The system can be applied to all the walls and the ceiling of the kitchen. We recommend applying it also to the wall behind the kitchen units, before or during the reconstruction works of the kitchen, to treat the walls as a preventive measure and eliminate the risk of the appearance of moulds. If possible, leave some space between the kitchen units and the wall for natural airflow. Another advantage of the system is its applicability to non-absorbent surfaces, such as wall tiles, floor tiles, marble, glass etc.

Nano Coat System consists of:

Nano PT - represents deep penetration that stabilizes the foundations. It is used for absorbent cohesive surfaces and is applied with a brush or roller.

Nano AM - it is used on all other surfaces where we can not use Nano PT. Thus, non-absorbent cohesive surfaces such as glass, iron and others. Apply with a brush or roller.

Nano TC - it is used to repair holes, cracks and small irregularities of size up to 3-4mm.

Nano Coat Homethe final layer of mass applied by a stainless comb trowel to a pre-treated, smooth surface of about 2 mm thick. After drying, grind the surface with sandpaper.

Apply in the following order:

 1. Nano PT or Nano AM,

2. Nano TC, if necessary to repair the surface,

3. final layer Nano Coat Home.
